The worldwide Muslim festival will end the month-long fasting period of the Holy Month of Ramadan by the Muslims tomorrow.
President Arroyo has declared October 1 as a regular non-working holiday in observance of Eid’l Fitr or the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The declaration of the holiday that is observed every year is contained in Proclamation No. 1625, issued by the President last Friday.
After a month-long period of sacrifice highlighted by day-long fasting during Ramadan, Muslims around the world celebrate the end of the holy month with a three-day feast called Eid’l Fitr. – Marvin Sy (Philstar News Service, http://www.philstar.com)
