Our rights, our lives, our loves and our selves are this year’s Pride march Theme. It is also a celebration of the10 years of Filipino rainbow Pride. My first participation in this event was year 2004 as we performed there as a Choir (Pride Manila Chorus). Moreover, after four years we are participating again.
The Pride March is known for its overwhelming attendance. It attracts thousands of participants and generates extensive local and international media attention. This year’s Pride March is also more particularly significant as it coincides with the celebration of the 60th year of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the launch in Manila of the Yogyakarta Principles (www.yogyakartaprinciples.org), an international declaration which affirms that sexual orientation and gender identity and expression as fundamental human rights. However, we cannot do it without your help. Community member or supporter, we could all contribute to make this year’s pride march a milestone for our country’s history.
On December 6 2008, Saturday, Malate Philippines. Let us Unite as the Celebrations comes closer. Join us in making a beautiful rainbow..
